NFC Writer by ReachIQ - Privacy Policy

ReachIQ's mission is to help professionals create and share their contact information seamlessly through NFC technology. A key part of that mission is our commitment to being transparent about the data we collect, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.
This Privacy Policy explains how NFC Writer by ReachIQ collects, stores, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application.
I. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide During Onboarding
When you create an account and set up your digital contact card, we collect the following information progressively through our onboarding flow:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Contact/phone number
- Professional title
- Profile picture (optional)
- Social media profile links - LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok (optional)
- Website URL (optional)
B. Profile Picture
Uploading a profile picture is optional. If you choose to upload one, it is stored securely on Amazon Web Services S3 (AWS S3). By uploading a photo, you confirm that you have the right to use that image. Your profile picture will only be displayed within the App as part of your digital contact card.
C. Digital Contact Card Data
When you create one or more digital contact cards through the My Cards section of the App, all information associated with those cards is stored securely on our servers. This includes any contact details, professional information, and any optional information you choose to include.
D. NFC Data
When you use the NFC write feature, the contact information you choose to write to an NFC card is processed by the App. When you use the NFC read feature, any data read from a third-party NFC card is processed locally on your device to display its contents. ReachIQ is not responsible for the content stored on third-party NFC cards.
E. Card Analytics
We collect and store data related to how your digital contact cards are used, including the number of times your card has been viewed. This data is used solely to provide you with insights into your card's performance.
F. Account and Authentication Data
When you register for an account, we collect your email address and securely store your password using JWT (JSON Web Token) authentication. If you forget your password and request a reset, we will send a one-time OTP (One-Time Password) to your registered email address. This OTP is valid for 10 minutes from the time it is sent and cannot be reused.
G. Device Information
When you install and use the App, we collect your device information including device type and operating system solely for the purpose of generating and managing your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. This token is required to deliver push notifications to your device.
II. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account
- To build and display your digital contact cards
- To enable NFC card writing and reading functionality
- To track and display card view analytics
- To send OTP emails for password reset when requested
- To send push notifications including platform news, updates, and tips about ReachIQ
- To improve the App's features and performance
- To comply with legal obligations
- To investigate and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized use of the App
III. Push Notifications
By creating an account, you agree to receive push notifications from ReachIQ. These notifications may include:
- Platform news and updates
- New feature announcements
- Tips and best practices for using the App
You may opt out of receiving push notifications at any time through your device settings. Please note that opting out may mean you miss important platform updates.
IV. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers. We use the following third-party service providers to operate the App:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) - for secure cloud storage of your profile pictures and digital contact card information
- Firebase (Google) - for push notification delivery via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
These providers are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not use any third-party analytics tools within the App.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of our users.
Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change via email or a prominent notice within the App.
V. Data Storage and Security
Your personal information is stored on secure servers via Amazon Web Services (AWS). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encrypted data transmission using SSL technology
- Secure authentication using JWT (JSON Web Token)
- Time-limited OTPs for password resets, valid for 10 minutes
- Secure image storage on AWS S3
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
VI. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days unless we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
VII. Your Choices and Rights
Access and Correction. You may access and update your personal information at any time through the App's settings.
Delete Your Account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@reachiq.com. Upon request, we will delete your information within 30 days.
Push Notifications. You may opt out of push notifications through your device settings at any time.
Optional Information. You may choose not to provide optional information such as your profile picture, social media links, and website URL. This will not affect your ability to use the core features of the App.
VIII. Users in the European Union (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland
If you are a resident of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- The right to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data
- The right to data portability
- The right to request erasure of your personal data
- The right to object to our processing of your personal data
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent, the performance of our agreement to provide the App's services, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in providing and improving the App.

IX. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
X. Third Party Links and Platforms
The App may contain links to third-party social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those platforms. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party platforms you use.
XI. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through a notification within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
